In 2007, VG4A initiated a cycle tour that has grown over the years and spread to other groups until cycle tours have become one of the most successful fundraising events of the whole Grandmothers Campaign. Early on, the Campbell River to Victoria ride was envisioned as an event that other grandmother groups on the Island could get behind, both by cycling with the team and by providing nourishing food and enthusiastic cheerleading for the cyclists.
In 2015, a shorter option was added to encourage other cyclists to participate, while during COVID, a shift to a virtual cycle format resulted in greater participation and the most funds raised by far.
In 2022, both the Campbell River to Victoria Ride and the Virtual Ride took place. See CYCLE TOUR for more information.
