Our Education Team offers a range of presentations and workshops suitable for schools, colleges, youth groups, care homes and other community groups. Presentations can be in the form of providing a panelist to a Zoom broadcast, preparing a classroom activity/ discussion and/or delivering a series of workshops - all developed with the needs of the audience in mind. We are teachers, professors, and group leaders experienced in developing engaging activities to suit every age and interest.

School Presentations

Paper Beads. We teach students about the role grandmothers in Africa played in raising their grandchildren, orphaned by AIDS. Selling paper bead necklaces provided income for many. Students experience compassion for others and learn about differences in families and cultures. In the course of one lesson, students make enough paper beads to string a necklace or bracelet to take home. We will provide "kits" for the paper bead activity.
Customized Social Justice Topic or Zoom presentation or workshop. As retired teachers and skilled presenters, we are able to offer any presentation or workshop 'angle' that you request, and will work with you to make sure it suits your students.
Sack Gardens. Historically the Victoria grandmothers for Africa helped students plant sack gardens similar to those the grandmothers in Africa would have planted to feed their families.

Community Presentations

We offer Power Point and other presentations to organizations such as churches, Rotary club, University Women group, Kiwanis, retired nurses, CUPE, care homes or any interested audiences. Our speakers are experienced and passionate.
