Two separate walks are planned, one at Elk Lake with a short and long option, and one at Ogden Point for those who want a short, flat walk.
1. Nancy Montgomery and Lisbie Rae will lead walkers and hikers around Elk and Beaver Lake. The hikers will do the 10K circuit and the walkers can choose an out and back distance that is suitable. Coffee will follow at Francelli's in the Royal Oak Shopping Centre.
Meet at the Beaver Lake main parking lot (the one full of speed bumps) at 9:30. From Victoria, take Hwy 17 north to Haliburton Rd, turn left at the traffic lights and double back south on Elk Lake Drive. Turn right on Beaver Lake Road and come into the park as far as the Main Beach Parking lot, the first large parking lot. If you reach the Filter Beds you've gone too far.
2. Carol Long will lead a short walk from the Breakwater at Ogden Point for any one who wants an even, paved surface and slower pace. Coffee at the Breakwater Cafe.
